Summer Project 2009!

We will be traveling to the Flathead Reservation in Montana, just an hour and a half north of Missoula, June 1-7.

Our group includes three buddy pairs (three Vanderbilt students and three best buddies, adults with intellectual disabilities) and Dr. Elisabeth Dykens, a professor at Vanderbilt and the director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for research on developmental disabilities.

We are staying at a bed and breakfast on the reservation.

Some of the things we will be doing:

- Visiting Glacier Mountain National Park
- Meeting with the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Services
- Touring the tribal college: Salish Kootenai College
- Attending a Pow Pow on Saturday evening
- Planting native plants in gardens at the Salish-Kootenai People's Center
- and MUCH more!!
