Here is our itinerary, that is subject to change:

Monday, June 1
Travel and arrive in Montana!

• (All times are local times of the locations listed. 10am in Montana or Colorado = 11am in Nashville.)


4:30am Arrive at Nashville Airport

6:00am Depart to Denver, Colorado

7:44am Arrive in Denver Airport, change planes

9:25am Depart Denver Airport to Spokane, Washington

10:44am Arrive in Spokane Airport

11:00am Rent van from Enterprise

11:30am Depart for Montana in rental van. Stop for lunch along the road trip.

3:30pm Dr. Dykens meet with Kevin, Director of Tribal Health

5:00 pm Arrive at Twin Creeks Bed and Breakfast
Relax and explore Flathead Lake

6:30 pm Barbeque dinner at the Twin Creeks Bed and Breakfast

Relax and play games, in for the night

Tuesday, June 2
Travel to Missoula!

9:30am Meet with Timm Vogelsberg, Executive Director/Research Professor, The University of Montana Rural Institute: Center for Excellence in Education, Research, and Service

Lunch on campus

Hike to the “M” in Missoula, on the mountain behind the University

Go to the Big Dipper Ice cream store in Missoula

Walk around campus

Visit Lost Creek State Park in Missoula http://fwp.mt.gov/parks, if time

Dinner on the way back to the reservation

Volunteer with Rich Janssen for the Tribal Environmental Protection Agency

9:00 Come to Rich Janssen’s tribal environmental offices in Polson, cleanup camp grounds

Lunch at Salish Kootenai College

12:00 Vocational Rehabilitation Consumer Focus Forum at the Salish-Kootenai College

2:30 Tour of Salish Kootenai College


3:30 Volunteer with Mission Mountain Enterprises Thrift Store

Friday, June 5

Help spruce up pow wow grounds with members of the People’s Center: scrape old paint off bleachers, tighten nuts and bolts, etc.


11:00am Picnic lunch hosted by Mission Mountain Enterprises at Boettcher Park in Polson.

Visit Montana's Kerr Dam, 5.1 miles southwest of Polson on Kerr Dam Road Polson, MT 59860 406-883-4450 http://www.pplmontana.com Kerr Dam is a three-unit hydroelectric plant on the Flathead River about five miles southwest of Polson and the natural outlet of Flathead Lake. The units have a total generating capacity of 196 megawatts, which can satisfy the average energy needs of about 150,00 homes and businesses. (If extra time.)
